Principal

George Vail became a Principal at Avison Young’s Capital Markets Debt and Equity division in April 2017. He specializes in structuring debt and equity solutions for both private and institutional real estate investors across the Southeastern U.S. With more than two decades of experience in the industry, George is known for delivering strategic and innovative real estate investment banking services. His expertise spans a wide range of property types, including performing and non-performing loans, multifamily, office, retail, industrial, hospitality, residential condos, marinas, and land.  Before joining Avison Young, George worked for five years at a real estate capital advisory firm in Miami, where he provided services across various asset classes. Prior to that, he spent six years at HFF, concentrating on multifamily investment sales.  George began his real estate career in 1997 as a Financial Analyst at Crow Holdings in Dallas, Texas, after graduating with honors from Duke University. There, he focused on underwriting and acquiring diverse property types.

Chris Lexis is a Principal and Shareholder at Avison Young, leveraging his deep Las Vegas roots and extensive market expertise to help clients navigate the city’s unique real estate landscape. Known for his integrity, strong work ethic, and commitment to being “always available,” he has built a loyal client base. Chris focuses on investment properties, land, and commercial and industrial development sales and leasing.  Beginning his career in 2004 at Lee & Associates, he quickly rose to become the youngest Vice President and Principal in the office. In 2013, he joined Avison Young as Vice President of Capital Markets and soon earned the roles of Principal and Shareholder. He represents property owners, investors, buyers, and tenants, actively marketing multiple projects throughout the valley, and possesses specialized knowledge in land use, planning, and zoning across Las Vegas municipalities.  Outside of work, Chris balances family life with his wife and two young children while also gaining hands-on experience in owning, managing, and expanding a personal and family commercial real estate portfolio spanning three states.

Christopher Maling recently became a Principal at Avison Young’s Downtown Los Angeles office. He focuses on investment sales, having successfully listed and sold a wide range of properties—including apartment buildings, retail shopping centers, office buildings, and industrial office-warehouse properties—both across Southern California and nationwide. Chris also brings extensive expertise in 1031 tax-deferred exchanges, as well as handling receiverships, foreclosures, and Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 bankruptcies.
